Our client is the leading independent network for the UK’s Creative Industries. They now seek a strategic, commercially minded Finance Director to partner with the CEO and Executive Team, guiding long‑term financial direction and ensuring the organisation’s continued resilience and impact. The Role

As Finance Director, you will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation, provide rigorous assessment of commercial opportunities, shape the financial strategy and strengthen financial governance, insight, and decision‑making. 

Finance Director Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Strategy: Develop and deliver a multi‑year financial strategy aligned to organisational goals.
  • Ensure Financial Integrity: Oversee financial governance, statutory compliance, and transparent reporting.
  • Drive Performance: Monitor key financial drivers, optimise resource allocation, and support ambitious but sustainable growth.
  • Board Reporting: Provide clear, timely and strategic financial insight to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board Committees.
  • Manage Risk & Resilience: Lead cashflow planning, risk assessment, and long‑term financial sustainability.

The ideal candidate

Essential

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with significant senior‑level leadership experience
  • Proven ability to design and deliver financial strategy in a growing or evolving organisation
  • Strong commercial judgement with experience in income diversification
  • Deep understanding of governance, compliance, financial controls, and risk
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker who can translate vision into actionable plans

Desirable

  • Finance Director experience in the creative industries, investment funds or not-for-profit sector.   
  • Knowledge of modern finance systems (e.g., Xledger) and CRM platforms such as HubSpot
